Iain Gall is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist Councillor for Montrose and District Ward.
Iain Gall, a graduate from the University of Aberdeen with an MA in accountancy lives on the family farm outside Montrose and runs the family’s renewable and tourism businesses whilst helping out on the farm in busy times.
After his selection, Iain Gall said “I am excited to be selected to represent Montrose and District, the area I was born and raised.
We have so many opportunities here in Montrose. From the £3bn Seagreen project, to the Tay Cities Deal, to the potential from the Grown Estate.”
“But councils can only do so much.
Angus is facing record cuts from the SNP Scottish Government.
I’m determined to stand up for Montrose and demand our fair share of funding.” “I am determined to champion everything Montrose & District has to offer, support our local economy, jobs, and our community. “As someone who lives locally, and runs businesses locally, I know just how
important that is.”
Iain GALL my priorities in Montrose & District are ....
1. Stopping Coastal Erosion
“The rate of erosion is significant and is a direct flood risk to Montrose and urgent action is required yet we are still awaiting confirmation of funding.
2. Scrap Montrose Parking charges.
The SNP wanted to retain parking charges in Montrose whilst scrapping them in other Angus towns - horrendously unfair on Montrose residents.
3. Crown Estate Montrose ZeroFour
ZeroFour centres around a 123 acre sit on the old RAF training airfield in Montrose. 35 miles from Aberdeen and Dundee, this site offers huge potential for economic development across Angus. The site would offer Industrial units, offices, training and research facilities and drone port all supported by ancillary services, conference and leisure facilities and a hotel. Iain said “This sort of development will provide quality jobs across different industry levels not to mention the huge potential that can be gained by local businesses. I will continue to champion local development, whilst ensuring local concerns are listened to.”
